In this role the successful candidate will be participating in all stages of the software development lifecycle in Agile environment. Interact with product management to define system requirements and/or necessary modifications, assist with systems integration and ensure successful development and deployment of key components of Maps products.

Job requirements:

• Ability to work independently from Kosice office, close cooperation with virtual team and customer based in Berlin
• Active communication in English on daily basis
• Knowledge of Agile methodology – active participation on daily stand up meetings and other scrum ceremonies

Other requirements:

Must have

• Senior Java developer (Java version 1.8). Solid core java knowledge coupled with a desire to learn Scala.
• It’s a plus if the candidate already did a few personal projects in Scala and/or did some of the Coursera Scala courses https://www.coursera.org/specializations/scala.
• Experience developing RESTful web services on the JVM platform

Highly desired:

• Good understanding of backend web technologies: including but not limited to XML, XSD, JSON + schema, protobuf, avro, data modelling, web frameworks spring, play-framework, akka, etc.
• Experience working with relational and NoSQL databases
• Experience working with AWS
