About the role:
This role is within Advanced Operations, which is part of the Global Operations and Quality function, working on projects leading to the introduction of new products and processes.
As a Process Engineer you will be ensuring new products are manufacturable to high volume production, whilst developing and applying advanced automation and manufacturing capabilities.
Your key duties and responsibilities as a Process Engineer:
- Working as a critical interface between R&D engineering, global automation engineering and manufacturing to implement new products and processes
- Provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Automation (DFA) inputs to the R&D and process development teams throughout the product design cycle
- Review of material and process specifications for new product, to ensure optimal transition of design and process into manufacturing
- Perform test activities / Proof of principle (POP) trials alongside R&D Engineering during project process development and materials qualification
- Conduct process investigation alongside R&D, to recognize the inputs and outputs to the process
- Production of high-level process maps for high volume production processes.
- Develop recommendations for POP evaluation with automation vendors using a risk based approach
- Use in-depth process knowledge to help inform process FMEAs, set realistic tolerances, devise sampling plans
- Work closely with R&D to build URS and determine suitable technology/equipment vendors
- Work closely with Automation project management (PM) to build equipment URS, and determine suitable automated technology/equipment vendors
- Supporting Automation PM
- Running and setting any Design of experiments (DOE) if/when needed
- Input into equipment and process validation strategies
- Establish and maintain the technical documentation throughout the project
- Ensures knowledge and expertise around the product and key equipment processes are handed over to local site engineering/manufacturing
About you:
- At least 3-5 years of relevant work experience as process or technology engineer
- Knowledge and experience in operations, manufacturing, or engineering is essential
- Working with cross functional teams across R&D and Manufacturing
- Must be proficient with PC programs i.e. Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), Statistical tools like Minitab or Jump, Project Mgmt (Microsoft Project, etc.)
Preferred:
- Experience in equipment and process validation and capability studies
- Experience with manufacturing quality – process FMEA, quality control
- Experience in technology/equipment selection
Education / Qualifications:
- Education at university level in engineering or scientific discipline
- Communicative level of English language
- The position is suitable for a fresh graduate – technical focus
