Job Description

As an Automation Project Manager you will be responsible for the delivery of innovative manufacturing process automation solutions conforming to agreed project timelines and budgetary projections.

You will work in partnership with R&D teams and you will be responsible to specify and deliver equipment capable of manufacturing New Product Designs to the highest safety, quality and efficiency in a cost effective manner.

You will work with other Project managers within the Global Automation and Engineering Team and key functions across all operational networks to ensure effective group planning, execution and reporting.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Be the project lead on all assigned projects, be the single point of contact with all Stakeholders and equipment / service vendors
  • Formulation and writing of the following:

– URS documentation to fully reflect the system /equipment requirements of the project

– Capital Acquisition Requests documentation including budgetary forecasting spreadsheets

– Change Control Records – describing the system /equipment and or changes to existing equipment, detailing the impact to the business and product portfolio

– Master Validation Plans – outlining the required validation

– Detailed Project Timeline Plans

– Equipment /system / process FAT/SAT/IQ protocols and reports

  • Compile and deliver regular updates on all assigned projects to all stakeholders / end users
  • Manage and accurately report on project budgetary matters & review vendor stage payments
  • Provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Automation (DFA) inputs to the R&D teams throughout the product design cycle
  • Manage POP trials and their execution as required
  • Deliver a strong customer service focus and create lasting relationships with customers and suppliers
  • Deliver technical and commercial evaluation and approval of vendor proposals for equipment and technology
  • Assist site-based facilities teams / end users with the construction of plant maintenance activity documentation based upon vendor / 3rd party to help support the Maintenance Excellence goals

 

Experiences:

  • Experience working with R&D teams in delivering automated manufacturing equipment solutions for new products
  • Background as a project manager within a highly automated manufacturing environment, identifying and implementing Industry 4.0 compatible manufacturing technology solutions within the workspace
  • Significant experience working as a project manager with automated conversion, lamination, joining, assembly, inspection, packaging and labeling processes
  • Experience in the introduction of AGV’s, material handling systems, automated packaging equipment for primary, secondary and tertiary products
  • Demonstrate a full understanding of the ‘Life cycle’ of a project and be experienced will all aspects and deliverables within that ‘Life cycle’ from concept justification to steps URS/RFP/POP/FAT/SAT/IQ to handover

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering or a scientific subject
  • Documented project management training and/or certificate e.g. IPMA-C/B, Prince2, PMP – preferred
  • Proficiency with CAD/SolidWorks or similar – an advantage
  • Communicative level of English language
